Rajesh took this trip as a good idea, drove me over, passed me over to Renju, and then went home to spend time with his wife during the weekend. Now, I know I don't describe things too well, but driving through the Ghat area between Bangalore and Mangalore was absolutely gorgeous. There was a slight drizzle, heavy dark clouds, and the greenery around was a picture that I could never describe. The roads were winding through the hilly areas, and I personally felt like I was playing a video game with AMAZING graphics of lorries, autos, bikes and scooters on the sides of the road, Rajesh clearly enjoying himself. It was clear he was just waiting to spread his legs and really drive.

After taking the drive in a short 6 hours, landed up in Mangalore, where I finished up the book Princess. That was among the most powerful books I have read yet, and plan to move onto the second one. If anyone has any suggestions of any other books I should read, please let me know.

But, as I was saying, was in Mangalore for just over a day, met alot of Renju's friends, realized all of them were tense, and I realized, I'll be the same next year when I'm prepping for my big tests! Between meeting friends and work, the weekend seemed pretty booked, and that wasn't too far from the truth. Sooner that any of us knew, Sunday arrived, Rajesh returned, and we started our trip back to Bangalore. Only during the return trip did I realize how cool Malayalam poetry really is! Granted, it was quite heavy with huge words I've never heard, but Rajesh was kind enough to take the time to translate into lay person Malayalam for me, and I heard stories that rival movies that we see on a regular basis there. Anyone who says that Malayalees are real conservative and all should hear translated versions of our poetry....then they'd reconsider!

eating a peach

have any of you eaten a peach? It was cool seeing people I hadn't seen in a while, people that I probably had seen before, but didn't remember, etc. Between all the driving, visiting, talking, and working, I lost my voice, but was fortunate to find it again before I jumped on a flight from Cochin back to Bangalore. That way, my aunt and uncle here didn't think I was totally off my rocker, 'cause before I returned, I pretty much sounded like a squeaking mouse, and now, finally, i sound just like a kid going through puberty....hehehe

Sadly my updates are few and far between, considering I need SOMETHING to write about, and i find nothing at all happens here. I came into work yesterday, had no-place to sit, found an old friend, and grabbed the only open seat next to him. You know what's cool? Intel provides free coffee and soda to their employees here! We never got that treatment at home! Oh well. Got into work at around 10, pulled up a chair, and worked till the late hour of 4. People are quite noisy here. I know I do this too, when I talk on the phone, sometimes I talk so loud, it sounds like I'm trying to make sure they can hear me in case the line goes dead. But that's the way it is almost all the time. Wanted to meet up with a friend from TVM, so we hung out at the mall here "The Forum", for a few hours during which we people watched, yapped (no, wait, yelled), ate some real good nachos, and at the end of the evening, lost my voice. It's amazing the things people wear out here...many girls walk out on the street in things my mother would never let me walk out of my closet in! I've run out of impressions and sights I saw. I wish i had more bits of interesting thoughts to pass on, but alas, i have run out of things to type, and without a voice, i'm unable to say anything else.

Somewhere in the world...

So, I finally landed, after two LONG days of travel. Nothing much to talk about the trip, other than the fact that i met one girl who was going to Sidney, and a bunch of that aunties, uncles, and people my age all heading to either tvm, ekm or blr. I ran into A in SIN, and we hung out till her flight took off, just yapping and catching up over what happened over the past year i didn't see her. Anyway, I landed in BLR yesterday midnite Indian time, hung out there with R for the day, and now am in MAA. We all hope all goes well here!
